Shower walls

This project included updating the walls in the shower, adding a niche and updating the fixture.

We started by removing the old acrylic shower walls and cleaning up the edges to prepare for the new tile. The first step was installing the cement board.

Then we sealed the cracks and applied the waterproofing. This is an extra step that we always do on our projects to ensure the walls behind the tile are completely watertight.

We added vertically laid 12×24 porcelain tile to the shower walls and ceiling. We also added a shower niche to create more storage.

The shower turned out beautifully and really brightened up the bathroom. Its crazy to think how one small change in a room can make it feel so different.
